Lord Richard Newby
Chairman

dickRichard began working in CR in 1988 as Director of Corporate Affairs at Rosehaugh plc, where he instituted community development programmes linked to the company’s major inner-city redevelopment projects. He also established and managed the Rosehaugh Foundation.

He has specialised in advising companies on their CR strategies and programmes and in putting together partnerships to deliver CR and public policy programmes. He has advised major corporates, including Avis Europe, St James’s Place Group and Smiths Group on their domestic and international community investment policies and helped them identify and work with voluntary sector partners.

He has extensive experience of working with professional sports clubs, NGOs and Government to develop programmes which use sport as a tool for education and community development. He established Sport at The Prince’s Trust, which he now chairs, bringing together professional football and cricket clubs, commercial sponsors and The Trust’s work with disadvantaged young people. He is Chair of IDS (International Development through Sport), UK Sport’s development charity and an Ambassador for the England and Wales Cricket Board’s Chance to Shine programme.

He became a Liberal Democrat Life peer in 1997 and is the Party’s Treasury spokesman in the House of Lords. He is Vice-Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Corporate Responsibility Group and Vice-Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Social Enterprise Group.

Jane Power
Managing Director

janeJane Power is the Managing Director of Live Consulting where she has been working closely with sport and music to establish long-lasting partnerships between public, private and voluntary sector organisations for the benefit of global programmes for young people.

These include benefit concerts for UN agencies supporting children featuring artists such as Phil Collins, Eric Clapton, G4 and Bill Wyman.

In sport, she is working with governments and sports organisations in the Caribbean to establish Sport for Life! The programme has established learning centres at the Test Cricket Grounds in each country and supports the Phoenix Academy in Barbados and the Caribbean Healthy Lifestyle Project in the eastern Caribbean.

Jane has worked on high-level major events for over twenty years and has produced television programmes on FIS Alpine Ski World Cup racing, four Alpine Ski World Championships and three Winter Olympic Games as well as ATP and WTA Tour tennis for Sky and Eurosport. From 1996-2001 she ran the commercial activities department at The Prince’s Trust where she helped establish its marketing strategy in sport, music and fashion and co-founded the Trust’s Football Initiative in 1997 and NatWest Cricket in 2000. In music she helped establish 95.8 Capital FM’s Party in the Park for The Prince’s Trust 1998-2001.
